STATUTES OF THE
EVS-ITALIA
In the January 27 2009,
among some members of the "International Association for
Vegetation Science" (IAVS) and the "European Vegetation Survey"
(EVS), was formed the Association of Social Promotion, in
accordance with the Italian Civil Code and the Italian Law
n.383/2000, called EVS-ITALIA, which is the expression of the
EVS (European Vegetation Survey) in Italy. The Association is
non-profit organization and non
commercial institutions, that have an interest only in European
Vegetation Survey programme. It's
duration is to be considered unlimited.
The business address of
the EVS-ITALIA is the residence of the President protempore.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
In accordance with the principles of "European Vegetation Survey" (Working Groups of the International Association for Vegetation Science), EVS ITALIA, aims to enable research and studies on a national scale in the various disciplines of Plant Sciences: Geobotany, Floristic, Ecology plant study of Biomes and Ecosystems, Vegetation classification, landscape ecology, population genetics and plant conservation. EVS ITALIA also support the organization of meetings with Italian and foreign, to discuss issues related to the vegetation classification schemes in Europe and in Italy and the application of European Directives in the field of Nature Conservation (Habitats Directive Natura 2000, Water Framework Directive and European Landscape Convention).
Primary Purpose:
- the defense and protection of biodiversity through the conservation of biotic and abiotic components of ecosystems (biodiversity & geodiversity);
- dissemination and promotion of a culture and a collective awareness for the conservation and management of natural resources;
- coordination of scientific activities of members of the Association and the promotion of meetings to promote relations between: the Association itself and national and international associations with similar purposes, students of disciplines related to Vegetation Science and government at both national and International level.
For the pursuit of institutional purpose of the Association EVS ITALIA aims to:
- promote research,and training in Environmental Botany and Ecology, in terms of flora, vegetation and landscape, based on modern biological-integrated approach;
- promote consistent dialogue approach for the development described above or amendment national and transnational amendment in the conservation of plant cover;
- organize national and international meetings within the activities of EVS;
- produce publications and multimedia (web site) useful for achieving the goals of the working group.
- promote measures for the protection and nature conservation, management and protection of habitats and geotopes;
- promote and disseminate culture and knowledge of the environment and good management of natural resources;
- to promote critical reflection on current patterns of economic development, and promotion of alternative models based on rational and ethical management of natural resources;
- provide scientific and technical support for managing the assets of vegetation reserves and natural parks ;
- produce publications and multimedia (web site) useful for achieving the goals of the Association.
These activities can be carried out in collaboration with other Italian institutions and / or foreign, with the same statutory objectives.
